EnOcean has a large product portfolio. Our Product Selection Guide helps you to find the right product for your application - in three simple steps from product type to depth of integration and the radio standards EnOcean, Bluetooth? and Zigbee.
Step 1: What type of application are you looking for: switch, sensor, actuator/gateway?
Our self-powered switch applications work 100 % battery-free, are maintenance-free and can therefore be placed anywhere in the room. The PTM switch module, the heart of our self-powered switches, works with energy gained from motion and fits into all common switch frames. Our solar-powered sensors provide data for a wide range of applications in digitized buildings and the Internet of Things (IoT). Actuators basically enable automation in smart buildings. Our wireless transceiver modules communicate with other EnOcean-based devices and enable a simple solution for e.g. LED lighting control and heating control as well as IoT solutions via gateways to the cloud.
Step 2: Minimum or maximum development effort?
Our radio modules such as PTM 21x and STM 550 contain all functional components of a self-powered radio sensor (energy converter, radio, sensor) and can be easily integrated into customer-specific product designs. You focus on the design of the end product, we take care of everything else.
Do you want to develop your own innovative battery-free terminal device? Use our components such as the kinetic energy converter ECO 200 with the miniaturized radio board PTM 535 for your mechanical switchgear or the energy harvesting sensor module STM 300 as the heart of your individual sensor solution.
White label products like the solar-powered EMDC motion detector from EnOcean are easy to commission and can quickly be integrated into existing systems based on the EnOcean, Zigbee and Bluetooth wireless standards. Only a minimal development effort is required. These products are therefore particularly suitable for system suppliers who focus more on automation and IoT solutions.
Step 3: Which radio standard and frequency are required?
The radio standards EnOcean, Bluetooth and Zigbee are suitable for different applications. Either take the radio protocol you already use, or follow these guidelines: The EnOcean wireless standard is supported by wireless sensors and wireless sensor networks with particularly low energy consumption. It is available in three different frequencies: 868 MHz for Europe, 902 MHz for USA/Canada and 928 MHz for Japan. EnOcean radio provides a reliable range of about 30 meters within a building, so it is particularly suitable for building automation systems. Bluetooth/BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) is more suitable for data transmission over short distances; when used in buildings BLE achieves a range of between 10 and 15 meters at a worldwide usable frequency of 2.4 GHz. Our Zigbee products are based on Zigbee Green Power / Zigbee 3.0, and can be integrated into mesh networking solutions. The protocol is mainly used in the field of smart home and works on the worldwide usable frequency of 2.4 GHz.
